In which I get lots of opportunities to photograph interesting animals by going to the zoo

A few weeks back, we made a quick trip to Victoria, Australia which included a trip to Melbourne Zoo. I made sure I had comfortable shoes and a fully charged camera…

Melbourne Zoo is heavily involved in conservation advocacy; at the time we were there they were highlighting unsustainable Palm Oil, a very serious environmental degradation issue that is overlooked in many areas of conservation work for a variety of reasons (geographically far away from major centres of advocacy, partly caused by an environmental project gone wrong (biofuel), and not particularly ‘trendy’). The short version: if you’re looking at products containing palm old, it is highly advised to go for ones with certified sustainable origins.
