The world’s tamest platypus (approximately)

It is generally considered that the platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus, which I find amusing because it sounds fancy but basically translates to ‘duck-billed’); is extremely shy, crepuscular-nocturnal, and generally uninterested in frolicking around for tourists to point at. The platypus living in the lake at the Cradle Mountain Lodge was an exception to all these rules.

The only thing it wasn’t doing was swimming within two metres of shore,

It may have been fed by the lodge staff.Platypus 2
